Jonel Matip (ankle) will have a test see if he can return for Liverpool. Philippe Coutinho (ankle) ahs yet to come back to traning and Juraen is cautious about him facinq Manchester City on 31 December.

Ibrahim Afellay is available again for Stoke City after a serious knee injury that has kept him out since April. Marko Arnautovic is suspened but midfielders phil Bardsley (knee) and Stephen lreland (calf), defender Geoff Cameron (knee) and goalkeeper Jack Butland (ankle) remain a few weeks away.

It needs to be really difficult to play LFC at Anfield and I think’s the job we did now. But not all of these games were close to perfect or something, there’s a lost to do.

Jurgen has given them a belief that can take that final step and really challenge for title. They appear to be a positive again, and Jurgen is a big part of that.
